Review Guide - Beretta A300 12GA
A300 Performance
[1]
Gas System Efficiency
The A300’s gas system is built to run hard without demanding a ton of maintenance. It cycles a wide range of loads smoothly, keeps recoil soft, and doesn’t choke when the weather turns cold and wet. Carbon buildup is manageable, and as long as you give it a basic cleaning now and then, the gun just keeps eating shells. For a working hunter who doesn’t baby their gear, the A300’s gas system feels both efficient and dependable

Field Test Results
I hunted over 40 days with the Beretta A300 counting Teal Season in the marsh of south Texas, the swamps in Louisiana, and the plains of Oklahoma. I must say i was very impressed. I am rough on equipment and the Beretta A300 didn't jam once. Every shot was ejected flawlessly.

Ergonomics and Fit
The A300 feels natural in the hands. The stock has a slim, easy-to-grip profile that mounts quickly without a lot of thinking, which matters when birds come in fast. Length of pull and comb height feel comfortable for most average-sized shooters, and the gun points where you’re looking instead of fighting you. Recoil is well-managed, so you’re not getting beat up over a long morning in the blind. Overall, the A300’s ergonomics make it easy to shoulder, swing, and stay on target. I will say there were some Cons in my opinion. I started out shooting over the target, coming from the Remington Versa Max. I found looking down the barrel was a lot different and needed some getting used to. Toward the end of the season i didn't have any trouble locking on target with a Kicks High Flyer choke tube.

Price Point
The Beretta A300 12ga sits in that sweet mid-range price bracket. I paid $849.99 in August of 2025. It’s not the cheapest shotgun on the rack, but for the money you get proven reliability, soft recoil, and a workhorse you’re not afraid to drag through the marsh. If you want a gun that feels a step above entry-level without jumping into high-end prices, the A300 makes a strong case
Rugged Bayou Rating
8.5
The Beretta A300 is a rugged workhorse that balances legendary reliability with extreme value. While it lacks some of the premium recoil reduction of its A400 sibling, its self-cleaning gas system and adjustable fit make it the ultimate choice for hunters who need a dependable tool that handles the swamp without breaking the bank.
